Bernier brace drops D.C. United, leads Impact to fifth consecutive victory
By BRYAN ROBISON The Montreal Impact finished their astounding August in style, defeating D.C. United 3-0, to finish the month 4-0. The win, their fifth in a row, and sixth consecutive victory at Stade Saputo, pulled the Impact within a point of fifth place in the Eastern Conference standings. At 39 points, the Impact sit one point away from D.C. United and the final playoff spot. The loss was the fifth consecutive loss on the road for United, as they have struggled all season away from RFK Stadium this season, registering just ten points all season on the road. While...
